Lost: Season 2 rewatch

I've been rewatching season 2 of Lost and the one conclusion I've come to is that Claire is an annoying bitch. Every time she gets all uppity about being a mom or other people talking about her baby, I want to punch her in the face. SPOILER ALERT: in retrospect, I'm glad she was gone all of season 5.

Movie review: Let The Right One In

Definitely not the best vampire movie ever as it's been billed. I found it boring. It didn't really have much vampire stuff going on. Did I just not get it? I don't know. Perhaps the translation wasn't done well, but I don't think that would matter. Lately, I've watched some other "great" movies that weren't: The Wrestler and Unforgiven.

Concert review: Nine Inch Nails

In a word: Awerockingsome. It was a good collection of fan favorites including Mr. Self Destruct, Reptile, Last, Heresy, etc. But no Closer. I'm just bummed that it didn't go on longer. Stupid Jane's Addiction was headlining, so the NIN set wasn't as long as it should have been. Why is JA headlining? I can name three songs by them and none of them are very good. I'll say this, some grade-A douchebags sat next to me and Adam and they were in love with them. I'm pretty sure one of them was Bob Saget. Full disclosure: I didn't stay to hear the JA set because who cares anyway. The one song I heard from Street Sweeper Social Club sounded good. I'll check out their record when it's released in June.

The Adam Carolla Podcast = funny

I've been listening to the Adam Carolla podcast lately and that guy is funny/interesting. I rarely listend to his radio show, but I have to believe that he has a lot more freedom to say what he wants and interview who he wants. It makes for a great podcast. It still seems odd to me that famous people mostly hang out with other famous people, but that's the case for Carolla. At least he hangs out with funny people. You should all check out the podcast. It can be found here: http://carollaradio.com/

Glenn Beck is a tool

Glenn Beck is a major tool. When he was on CNN, he made some noise and that was about it. Now that he's on Fox, he's become hysterical. I don't watch his show, but I recently saw Stephen Colbert's send up of him (link), and he's officially a great big douchebag. What the fuck is Beck talking about? And the fake crying? Cmon. Maybe he's started taking estrogen. Even though Beck is a ridiculous hack, at least it gives Colbert (and everyone else) good material to lampoon. Glenn Beck. What a dumbass.

Letter to the Editor

I was just checking to make sure there are no embarrassing references to me on the internet and I stumbled upon this link: link

I wrote a letter to the Editor of the CSU Collegian in 2004 and it found it's way online. Here is the text of my letter:

I have been an avid reader of the Collegian for almost two years now. Overall, it is one of the finest newspapers I've had the pleasure of reading. However, there is one area in which the Collegian lacks. And that is the comics page. Specifically, there are two comics which you run daily that suck: "Baldo" and "Heart of the City."

I have never laughed after reading "Baldo" and I don't think I ever will. It's just not funny. I believe the lowest point this year was when the hilarious aunt that can't seem to deal with society was trying to buy coffee. She could barely cope with the high prices. How hilarious! It was so funny, it made me want to cry (and by cry I mean beat myself with a stick).

"Baldo" is bad, but it doesn't compare to "Heart of the City." This is the comic that recently ran an entire week of strips with plots gleaned from "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Not only is the comic devoid of humor, but also the author can't even come up with his own ideas.

I can understand if you print these comics because you have to pay royalties and the better comics cost more, but I sincerely believe that only my grandmother would find these comics funny and should be erased forever from our campus newspaper. So, if it's a possibility, could you please treat us to some better comic strips?
